ABOUT ME

My WORK

I am an architecture and landscape photographer based in Basingstoke, Hampshire - an hour from central London.

My images try to tell a story that is unique to the spaces and places I visit; showcasing the structural beauty of buildings and landscapes and to evoke an emotional response.

I aim to provide a clear, clean aesthetic, focussing on simplicity and often abstraction, putting emphasis on form and structure. I try to draw attention to lines, geometry and shapes, exploring the essential qualities and most notable features of a place, excluding everything else. Revealing the feeling and essence of a place, I hope to draw the viewer in, creating images that are both captivating and honest.

Someone described my images as being portraits of spaces which I quite like the sound of.

My Journey

I started out taking photographs on film and printing black and white in the dark room at school in the late 90’s - this was fairly short lived as my love of music took over and I ended up following that creative outlet for many years. I returned to photography when I got my first iPhone in the 00’s - having a camera in my pocket at all times was a complete game changer and I became an avid iPhone photographer (me and a billion other people).

A decade later, in 2018 , I recognised that taking photos was a daily pursuit, however, wasn’t getting the image quality I wanted. I brought a decent camera and started making this a serious hobby - this was a huge leap forward in image quality and gave me the push I needed. Since the, I have been completely obsessed with taking photos everywhere I go and have also upgraded to a professional set-up. Photography is now firmly embedded in my daily routine and is a serious part of my life.
